Direct Edge Manufacturing uses advanced technology to provide a comprehensive range of metal processing services, from initial design and prototyping through to final surface finishing and assembly.
In-House Design & Programming
Full design support using Autodesk Inventor to convert concepts into production-ready 3D models. Machine programming handled in-house using TruTops Boost, JETCAM and SigmaNEST for maximum material efficiency.
Waterjet Cutting
5-axis MACH 500 high-capacity cold-cutting technology for a broad range of materials and thicknesses without heat-affected zones. Supports advanced bevelling and 3D cutting.
Laser Cutting
High-accuracy Trumpf L2030 CNC laser cutting system providing clean edges and intricate detail for sheet metal requirements.
CNC Turret Punching
Trumpf TC5000 CNC turret punch for versatile high-speed punching and forming of complex components, including louvres, embossing and threaded extrusions.
Multicam CNC Router
CNC processing for non-metallic materials up to 100mm thick, including timber, acrylics, polyethylene, polycarbonate, aluminium composite, plywood and rubber.
CNC Press Brake
Trumpf V1300 and SafanDarley E 40-1600 equipment for precision folding and bending, using adaptive measuring systems to support repeatable accuracy across production runs.
Deburring & Finishing
Timesavers 42 RB 1350 deburrer for professional edge rounding and surface treatment to ensure high-quality, safe and uniform finishes on all parts.
Welding & Fabrication
Comprehensive welding services including MIG, TIG and spot welding. The facility is equipped for high-spec structural and architectural fabrication, with welding certified to ISO 3834-2 and DIN 2303 Q2 BK1, and an International Welding Engineer (IWE), International Welding Specialist (IWS) and International Welding Inspector (IWI) on site.
Inspection
Full inspection reports for 3D parts using a Romer Absolute Arm 7325 and for 2D parts using InspecVision Planar. Reverse engineering support also available.
Surface Finishing
Comprehensive in-house finishing including industrial powder coating and specialised wet painting for defence and commercial sectors. Chemical dip tanks and a Burwell full reclaim abrasive blasting system for pre-treatment.
Electropolishing
In-house mepBLITz DC-i5 electropolishing for stainless steel, producing a bright, clean, corrosion-resistant finish. Because there's no need to send parts out for polishing, lead times stay short.
